Secondhand Book Sale in aid of RSPB Abernethy
Description
RSPB Abernethy is an incredible place for nature, supporting more than 5,000 species including some of the UK's rarest and most threatened wildlife. Its importance is recognised not just on a UK level but an international one by many protected area designations.
Wildfires broke out on 15th July 2026, and efforts were led to mitigate these by emergency services and supported by RSPB staff, local volunteers, gamekeepers and estate staff, neighbouring landowners, Cairngorms Connect partners and others. The last firefighters left Abernethy on the 17th August, with RSPB staff and volunteers dampening hotspots thereafter.
Although the damage is significant, nature is resilient. The rate and extent of recovery will be variable, some areas will regenerate and recover more quickly, other areas may take decades or longer to recover.
This recovery will take time and support, and that's why we are fundraising for RSPB Abernethy to aid them in that process.
Our event has an entry fee of £2, all of which will go to RSPB Abernethy, and 50% of all secondhand book sale proceeds taken will go to the charity as well!
Come along, bring some bags and fill your boots with books!
Tea, coffee, biscuits etc. all available :)
