The Secret Life of Hooded Plovers: Free guided beach walk at Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park
Description
The Hooded Plover is a threatened shorebird that lives on our beaches. More than a third of South Australia's population live on Yorke Peninsula.
BirdLife Australia and Northern and Yorke Landscape Board invite you to come and learn about these charismatic little birds. Join us for a free walk and discover how 'Hoodies' raise their chicks, the threats they face and the management undertaken to help them!
Who is this event for?
This activity is suitable for all ages and all experience levels welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Meeting Point
Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park – Gropers Bay beach (-35.234771, 136.831350)
We will meet at the Pondalowie Bay day use area carpark (where the Gropers Bay beach lookout is)
What to Bring:
Enclosed footwear
Protective clothing; hat, long sleeves, long trousers
Sunscreen
Drinking water
Camera / Binoculars (if you have them)
