Secrets of peer review in academic journals

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Convened by Associate Professor Nick Hopwood, this online workshop will reveal a number of hidden and sometimes secretive aspects of peer review in academic journals. Instead of seeing peer review as something that happens to you, it will offer tools and strategies to help you navigate this process: how to avoid rejection, and how to influence who reviews your paper. We will also confront the realities of peer review (possible rejection, nasty reviews) and how to respond when this happens.

This workshop will be relevant to researchers across all disciplines and with a range of publishing experience – those poised to submit their first article, through to those with multiple publications wanting to up their game.

Please make sure you watch the following video before attending the session.
