Secrt J@zz Series: Thøger Lund featuring Kresten Osgood

The Secrt J@zz Series returns to the HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival with bassist Thøger Lund welcoming back Danish drummer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Kresten Osgood, the special guest who helped launch the series in 2024.

Built around musical discovery, collaboration and the spontaneity of musicians creating in the moment, the Secrt J@zz Series offers an intimate jazz experience where no two performances are quite the same. This year, Lund reunites with an artist whose deep knowledge of jazz tradition is matched by an instinct for taking the music somewhere unexpected.

Osgood has spent his career moving freely between bebop, free jazz, funk, hip-hop, R&B and avant-garde improvisation, performing and recording with artists including Yusef Lateef, Paul Bley, Sam Rivers, Wadada Leo Smith, Roscoe Mitchell, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Joshua Redman and Jason Moran. In 2024, the Kresten Osgood Quintet received one of Denmark's highest jazz honors when Live at H15 Studio was named Jazz Release of the Year at the Danish Music Awards Jazz.

Together again in the intimate Lounge at the Temple of Music and Art, Lund, Osgood and their fellow musicians open TJF2027 with two sets shaped by the musicians onstage, the energy in the room and the possibilities of the moment.
