Seed Raising
Description
Curious about growing your own plants from seed?
Want to save money, become more self-sufficient, or simply get more from your garden?
Join us at the Ashburton Community Garden for a relaxed, hands-on session all about seed saving and seed raising. September is a great time to get into it!
Experienced local gardener Christine Widdowsen (with help from Community Garden volunteers on the day) will share practical tips, tricks, and lessons learned, from collecting and storing seeds to growing strong seedlings.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, this is a great chance to learn what really works in our local conditions.
We'll have seeds and seed raising mix ready for you to put into practice what you learn, on the day.
Bring your questions & your curiosity, and any specific seeds you want to grow.
Free event but tickets are limited - get your free tickets today
Open to everyone - all experience levels welcome
We'll provide hot drinks & a warm welcome (and garden tours for first timers to the ACG)
Come along, connect with others, and leave inspired and equipped to grow more for less.
