In this indoor presentation, horticulturalist Kat Lavers will teach you how to save seeds and how toĀ grow veggies and herbs from seed.Ā
Topics covered:
- Seed saving techniques for common vegetables
- How to store seeds for maximum lifespan
- Growing from seed without spending a cent on seed raising mix
The Brimbank Seed Library is open at Sydenham Library.Ā Library members can take one packet of seeds per month. To help sustain the Seed Library, we encourage members to save andĀ donate heirloom seeds back into the collection, and in return be able to borrow extra seed packets that month.Ā

Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc. to swap and share!
Kat Lavers is a passionate gardener and sustainable food systems advocate. With a background in permaculture design, teaching and facilitation, her work reconnects people with the land under their feet, and helps them experience the abundance of growing food as well as their role in wider ecosystems.
