Description

Our gardens start and end with seeds. MAP Farm Manager Katie Pfohl will talk about which varieties to select, how to start seeds with success and even some seed saving tips. There will be a seed swap during the workshop, and open to all seed enthusiasts.

Classes are offered in partnership between the Massachusetts Avenue Project, Urban Roots Cooperative Garden Market, and Grassroots Gardens of WNY.

MAP is a nonprofit food hub and urban farm that promotes equity and access by connecting people to nutritious, local food. Located on Buffalo's West Side, our dedicated staff and volunteers work in neighborhoods throughout Buffalo to build connections with people and work with them to build a food system that benefits people, the planet and our regional economy.

We offer culinary education classes on a sliding scale with the goal of bringing people together to share good food. Our classes promote cross cultural learning, teach recipes using fresh, nutritious seasonal produce, and educate on food preservation methods such as pickling and fermentation.
