Wildflower Seed Spheres Workshop

Join our educators for a hands-on nature adventure, where children discover the beauty of native plants and learn the important role flowers play in supporting biodiversity, before creating their own native wildflower seed spheres to take home.

Through guided exploration in the Arboretum's STEP garden, children will learn how native plants support birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife, and why biodiversity matters. They will then get creative mixing clay, compost and native wildflower seeds to make seed spheres that help protect seeds while they germinate and grow.

In this workshop, children will:

• Explore the National Arboretum's STEP garden

• Learn about the unique plants and trees growing in the forest

• Discover how native plants support local wildlife and pollinators

• Create their own native seed spheres using clay, compost and wildflower seeds

• Take home their seed spheres along with tips for helping native flowers thrive

This fun and engaging workshop combines creativity, nature and environmental learning, inspiring children to connect with the natural world and become young stewards of Australia's unique flora.
