Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program reforms online workshops
Event description
Have your say on the future of the SEE program
The Department of Education, Skills and Employment (the department) is holding interactive online workshops on proposed changes to the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program.
The SEE program is the Government’s primary program for helping eligible job seekers improve their language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills.
When they improve these skills, eligible job seekers can participate more effectively in training or in the labour force, with greater benefits for themselves, the economy and the community.
The workshops are for SEE providers and stakeholders.

What will the workshops cover?
This is an opportunity to have your say on proposed changes to SEE program procurement, contracting, funding and delivery arrangements starting from 1 July 2023. These changes aim to improve outcomes for participants.
The department has developed a paper that discusses possible changes to these areas of the program and is conducting consultation from November 2021.
Each workshop will explore one of the following 3 key topics covered in the SEE program discussion paper. There will be multiple sessions during the workshop, with a focus on generating feedback and solutions that will help inform the future SEE program.
If workshops reach capacity, additional workshops will be held on the following dates - Tuesday 25th Jan and Thursday 27th Jan. These additional dates will only be open for registration once workshops 1, 2 and 3 are fully subscribed.
Workshop 1: Job seeker access and engagement
This workshop will explore ways to increase participation and engagement in the program. Workshop participants will discuss how to improve pathways into the program and methods of training delivery.
Workshop 2: Program and provider performance
This workshop will explore how the program can better support quality training delivery and participant outcomes. Workshop participants will discuss possible changes to current performance measures and assessment processes to ensure ongoing delivery of quality training.
Workshop 3: SEE payment model
This workshop will explore how the SEE program payment model can continue to support program outcomes and keep pace with changes in the Vocational Education and Training. Workshop participants will discuss possible changes that can increase program participation for all learner cohorts and eligible job seekers.
