Background

The Skills for Education and Employment SEE program is the Government’s primary program for helping eligible job seekers improve their language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills.

Such improvements can enable eligible job seekers to participate more effectively in training or in the labour force and lead to greater long-term gains for themselves, the economy and the community.

The Government is increasing its investment in foundations skills programs, like the SEE program, so more job seekers can access the program.

The department has developed a paper that discusses possible changes to the program and is conducting consultation from November 2021.

Consultation will provide the Government with feedback about how the SEE program can:

  • improve access and participation
  • increase program outcomes with a greater focus on quality language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy (LLND) training
  • improve performance reporting while also looking for opportunities to reduce the administrative and compliance burden on providers where practicable
  • ensure flexibility to respond to change.

Contacts and help

The webinar will be accessible and include Auslan translation and live captioning if attendees require it. Please provide any additional accessibility requirements when registering.

If you want to find out more about how the webinar will run or need help to register, please contact The Social Deck at engage@thesocialdeck.com or phone 0491 617 118.
