Self-care is community care: a respite for BIPOC women
Event description
Self-Care is Community Care is an hour devoted to rest and reset for BIPOC women ages 18+. PLEASE NOTE MADC uses the term “women” to encompass all those who self-identify as women, including cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming. This free one-hour workshop consists of mindfulness (guided breathing exercises, guided meditation, and guided visualization exercises) and mobility/stretching (low-impact exercises/stretches that assist in improving strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance). Please come in comfortable clothes and sneakers. Please bring a water bottle and a small towel. Bringing a mat or large towel for stretches is optional, not a requirement. This workshop is made possible due to the West Harlem Development Corporation and Columbia University's In-Kind Space Program.
