Description

The Professional Development Series offers accredited learning opportunities designed to support educators, particularly those working in Catholic schools, in deepening their understanding of Catholic faith, identity and tradition, and building their confidence in teaching Religious Education.

These courses are also well suited to parish and diocesan leaders, ministry practitioners and others seeking to strengthen their understanding of Catholic theology, Scripture and tradition, and apply this knowledge in their professional and faith communities.

Course Information

Professional Learning and Accreditation

Key Areas of Professional Learning

The Professional Development Series addresses important areas of Catholic education and accreditation, including:

  • Aims and Objectives of a Catholic School: Exploring Church teaching, Catholic educational philosophy, school charism and ethical principles.

  • Faith Development: Deepening understanding of faith formation, religious education pedagogy and curriculum.

  • Catholic Identity: Engaging with Scripture, prayer, liturgy, Catholic social teaching and the traditions that shape Catholic life and mission.

Supporting Faith, Knowledge and Practice

Together, these courses provide an accessible and practical foundation for educators, parish leaders and other adult learners seeking to deepen their knowledge, strengthen their faith and integrate Catholic values and traditions into their teaching, leadership, ministry and everyday practice.
