Self- Pleasure Event
Description
A Liminalis space to pause, to feel what is alive, and to remember that presence — with yourself, and in the company of others — is its own kind of medicine.
INTRODUCTION
The Self-Pleasure Circle is a guided practice in following what's actually alive in you — not performing pleasure, not chasing a particular outcome, but building a genuine relationship with your own signal. This is a processwork-informed space: rather than directing you toward pleasure, or away from discomfort, we work with whatever arises — sensation, resistance, grief, aliveness, stillness — as valid, useful information from your own body.
It's a way of being with yourself, in the presence of others doing the same.
THE FOCUS
What happens in your body when you stop managing it, and start listening to it?
Most of us have learned to relate to our bodies as things to control — arousal to suppress or produce on demand, sensation to interpret quickly and move past, discomfort to avoid. This circle works differently. Using a processwork lens, we follow the signal — whatever wants your attention, whether that's pleasure, tension, grief, boredom, aliveness, or nothing at all — rather than pushing toward a predetermined experience.
This means your body's responses are never “wrong” here. Numbness is information. Tears are information. Full-bodied aliveness is information. Nothing needs to look a particular way for it to be real, or for it to count.
Nudity, sexuality, and expression are entirely your own to navigate — worn or unworn, quiet or vocal, still or moving. What matters is your own experience, not anyone else's gaze, and not a version of yourself you think you're supposed to arrive at.
WHAT TO EXPECT
There is no touch between participants. This is a self-touch practice — you are guided to build your own relationship with your own body, at your own pace, with facilitation to support you if you move into unfamiliar territory.
This work is trauma-aware by design. You will not be pushed past your own capacity, and titrating your experience — going slowly, pausing, stepping back — is not just allowed, it's part of the practice. Building your capacity to stay present with your own nervous system, rather than flooding or shutting down, is as much the work as anything that happens on the surface.
Nudity is optional and entirely your own choice. Others in the room may be nude or in their own expression as part of their individual practice — this is not something you need to manage, respond to, or make meaning of. Your only responsibility in this room is your own experience.
For those attending The Witnessing Body this weekend: this circle is where the work becomes lived. You'll have the opportunity to build your capacity to hold sexuality — your own and others' — in a live environment, held by Rachel with support throughout. It's one thing to understand attunement conceptually; it's another to practice it, in real time, in a room, with your own nervous system as the instrument. If you are someone working with people like coaches, counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists etc this workshop is for you! email if you want to attend.
THE SPACE
Facilitated by Rachel, held in consent, presence, and care.
All participation is optional and self-directed. You are always welcome to step back, take a break, or simply witness rather than participate. No experience necessary — only curiosity and consent.
