Event description

In 2025, Impact100 Sydney sought grant applications from charities undertaking activities to promote social cohesion in the Greater Sydney region. We received 64 applications from across Sydney, and nine have been selected to proceed to the semi-finalist stage.

This stage of the process involves the provision of additional information by the shortlisted organisations, and the participation in a virtual site visit that is open to all Impact100 Sydney 2025 donors to attend.

Site visits present a terrific opportunity for organisations to bring to life their grant application, for you to meet key people in the organisation and ask questions that help clarify the program being pitched.

4 Voices Global Limited

4 Voices Global Limited is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bringing relief to women experiencing social isolation, family disconnection and community disengagement across Sydney. Through their unique "cuppa and conversation" approach, they help women reclaim their voice, one connection at a time. Operating across inner and western Sydney, 4 Voices offers free in-person outreach and phone support services delivered by over 500 volunteers, providing digital literacy support, help navigating housing and health services, employment readiness assistance, and most importantly, a compassionate presence where women feel heard and valued.

The organisation supports women and girls facing violence, homelessness, and deep social disconnection - those whose daily lives often revolve around securing basic necessities like food and safety. In 2024, they supported 4,870 people facing loneliness, with many in Sydney dealing with hidden forms of homelessness such as sleeping in cars, on trains, or couch surfing. Their volunteers include many young people - students, job seekers, and recent migrants - who themselves may be experiencing loneliness, creating a dual social impact where both helpers and those helped benefit from the connection.

A $100,000 investment from IMPACT100 Sydney would enable 4 Voices to expand their innovative Purple Backpack (PBP) model into high-need areas including Bankstown, the Sutherland Shire and Penrith. This low-cost, quick-to-implement solution involves trained volunteers in purple 4 Voices shirts visiting key locations with tech-equipped backpacks containing emergency vouchers and essential supplies. The funding would support the purchase of digital equipment, volunteer training and management, delivering three weekly outreach shifts in each location for 12 months. This expansion would directly support at least 36 women per week while recruiting and training up to 90 local volunteers, creating a powerful cycle of community connection and support.
