Wed, 27 Aug, 10:30pm - 11:30pm EDT

Event description

In 2025, Impact100 Sydney sought grant applications from charities undertaking activities to promote social cohesion in the Greater Sydney region. We received 64 applications from across Sydney, and nine have been selected to proceed to the semi-finalist stage.

This stage of the process involves the provision of additional information by the shortlisted organisations, and the participation in a virtual site visit that is open to all Impact100 Sydney 2025 donors to attend.

Site visits present a terrific opportunity for organisations to bring to life their grant application, for you to meet key people in the organisation and ask questions that help clarify the program being pitched.

Streetwork Australia Limited

Streetwork Australia has over 40 years of experience delivering innovative prevention and early intervention programs for vulnerable young people across Sydney. The organisation works to stabilise and improve young people's lives across five critical risk areas: mental health, suicide and self-harm, youth crime, early school leaving, and youth homelessness. Through structured programs like KickStart Mentoring and PRIDE Empowerment, assertive outreach activities, and youth advocacy services, Streetwork takes a comprehensive approach to youth support.

Operating with a whole-of-community approach, Streetwork collaborates with schools, youth agencies, employment services, and rehabilitation programs to ensure lasting impact. Their work is grounded in evidence, with PwC analysis showing that Streetwork's programs deliver $87.9 million in annual community value, demonstrating their effectiveness in addressing complex youth challenges.

A $100,000 investment from IMPACT100 Sydney would fully fund their Change Your Course program for two years, delivering $1.6 million in community value with a social return on investment of $16 for every $1 invested. The program combines mentoring, psychological support, and life coaching to reduce youth crime and recidivism by building protective factors. Each year, the funding would engage over 130 young people, deliver 800+ one-on-one mentoring sessions, provide 50+ counselling sessions with child psychologists, and run 10+ group life coaching programs. With youth incarceration costing approximately $700,000 per year per child and re-offending rates exceeding 80%, this early intervention approach offers both human and economic benefits by keeping young people connected to education, employment, and community.
