Join us for a special guest seminar with scientist, communicator, and Jet Lag: The Game star Toby Hendy (Tibees) as she explores the intersection of physics, media, and creative storytelling.
Some of the most engaging scientific ideas begin with a simple question: how do we make the complex feel intuitive? Through her widely acclaimed videos, Toby has reimagined how physics and mathematics are communicated–taking historical exam papers, abstract proofs, and intricate concepts and transforming them into accessible, visually compelling narratives.
Toby will share insights into her transition from university research to full-time science communication, discussing the creative process behind her work, the power of visual storytelling in STEM, and the unexpected paths a background in physics can open up.

Toby Hendy (Tibees)
Toby Hendy earned a BSc from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand before completing honours in Physics at the Australian National University. She is the creator of the YouTube channel Tibees, where she explores physics, mathematics and the history of science for a global audience. Toby has also ventured into publishing: A Guide to Making Friends in the Fourth Dimension was released in 2025, and her new science-fiction novel, Alpha Creek, is due out in September 2026.
