Event description

Conversation with Lynda Ben-Menashe

NeuAltland is a workshop facilitated by Lynda Ben-Menashe. The workshop is a discussion of the new landscape Jewish people are moving through in the world and offers some strategies for navigating this space and comes highly commended. Please note: the workshop will offer support and guidance - not 'solutions'.

About Lynda

Lynda Ben-Menashe is a passionate builder of social capital who has worked in Australia and Israel in education, publishing and public diplomacy. She has served the NSW Jewish community for over 15 years through organisations including the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, the National Council of Jewish Women Australia and the NSW Board of Jewish Education.

Lynda created and ran the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies’ Talking about Israel program, which between 2009-2021 upskilled almost 2,000 people, and which since October 8 in its latest iteration has been embracing and empowering many thousands more in at-home and institutional settings. For a number of years she also ran Talking About Israel courses for high school students at Masada College, Moriah College and Emanuel School to help prepare them for life after school. She helped create the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies’ Israel At War portal and also supports the ECAJ’s Digital Advocacy Project.

Among the other Israel-related programs Lynda conceived and developed are the BJE's Israel Program for Year 10 students and in-depth study tours of Israel and the West Bank for church, LGBTQIA+, First Nations and academic opinion leaders. She spearheaded the recognition of Jews from Arab Lands and the inclusion of Mizrahi Jewish story in our communal narrative and has spoken about Israel to thousands including the ADF, police, students, teachers, politicians, NGOs and ‘ordinary’ people ranging from philo-semites to Israel-haters.

Lynda now works as a strategic consultant to a wide range of multicultural communities. View her LinkedIn profile here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ly...
