Seniors Chair Yoga – Northern Beaches Seniors Month Program
Move gently, improve your wellbeing, and connect with others in our FREE 4-week Seniors Chair Yoga program designed for those 60+ who prefer to practice yoga from a chair.
Chair Yoga is perfect if you have issues with knees, hips, or back, balance concerns, vertigo, or blood pressure challenges. You’ll enjoy all the important elements of yoga – mindful movement, stretching, joint mobility, breathwork, and relaxation – safely from your chair, at your own pace.
Accessible for You: This class is designed to cater to your individual needs, with modifications offered as needed. We’re not trying to break world records – it’s about moving mindfully, building confidence, and having some fun.
When: Mondays, starting 13th October for 4 weeks. Last session is Monday 3rd November.
Time: 10:45am – 11:30am (arrive at 10:35 am on Week 1 for meet & greet, needs discussion, and paperwork)
Where: Northern Beaches Community Hall, 24 Wallace Street, Bucasia
After each class, enjoy tea, coffee, and a light morning tea – a wonderful chance to connect with fellow seniors.
Please note: For seniors who are more mobile and able to move comfortably on the floor, we also offer Seniors Yoga, which focuses on building flexibility, balance, and strength through gentle floor-based exercises.
What to Bring:
-Water bottle
-Towel
(Yoga mat optional)
What to Wear:
-Comfortable clothing suitable for gentle movement while seated
This is a 4-week program designed to give you the full experience and benefits of gentle yoga.
