Seniors Festival 2026: Silver Screen Social – Calendar Girls

Join Dhelkaya Health’s Get Connected program for a special Seniors Festival movie afternoon featuring the much-loved classic Calendar Girls. Come along for a relaxed afternoon of film, friendship and connection. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a classic movie in good company and meet others in the community.

Plot summary - Calendar Girls follows a group of middle-aged women from the Women's Institute in rural Yorkshire whose lives are changed after one member's husband dies from leukaemia. To raise money for a local hospital, they create an unconventional charity calendar featuring tasteful nude photographs of themselves. Their unexpected success brings fame, challenges and personal struggles, while celebrating friendship, resilience, ageing and the importance of community.

Accessibility: The room used for this session, and toilets, are wheelchair and low mobility accessible. However,  we recommend anyone with accessibility needs contact Castlemaine Community House to discuss their requirements. 

Low involves minimal walking to and within the activity and mostly flat ground. There is always an alternate option to sit somewhere.
