Seniors Seasonal Walk - Kaoota Tramway Track
Event description
Discover the Kaoota Tramway track during this year's Seniors Spring Walk
Join us for a guided scenic walk, starting at the end of Lawless Road, Margate.
This seasonal walk is designed for people who typically cannot enjoy nature alone or need extra support to do so. We hope to introduce you to new reserves and trails through this program and encourage new friendships and connections.
Led by BJ from our Natural Areas and Biodiversity team, this track offers an easy walk along a wide track. The route is fairly flat and winds through Eucalyptus forest. We will stop and look at a diversity of plants. It's an opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna and share a snack with others in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Duration: 3 hours slow walking with frequent stops that includes time to stop for a snack
Distance: 3.5km return
Parking: Parking at the end of Lawless Road, Margate
What to Bring: Sturdy shoes, binoculars (optional). To ensure your comfort during our bush walk, we also recommend bringing walking sticks, water, and feel free to bring a light foldable chair if standing for extended periods is challenging.
Bookings are required for this event. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate, we kindly ask that participants book no more than two senior walks per year.
Please call 6211 8200 for any enquiries.
This event is part of Council's Positive Ageing program for senior residents.
