What is yoga?
1) Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. Yoga fundamentally represents a 'work in' rather than an 'external workout'. Yoga was developed as a spiritual practice thousands of years ago.
2) Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living. The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, man & nature.
3) Yoga, an eternal practice rooted in ancient wisdom, transcends mere physical exercise to encompass a profound journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. At its core, yoga means ‘union’ or ‘connection,’ of the mind, body & spirit, a concept that is richly explored through various traditions and practices.
