Sensing the West Forum
Event description
The NSW Smart Sensing Network with its partners Western Sydney University, Celestino Sydney Science Park and CSIRO will be hosting a forum to determine how smart sensing can benefit new developments in NSW.
This one-day event, followed by networking drinks, will include expert panel discussions followed by working sessions to explore new opportunities for smart sensing in Western Sydney. Although particular focus will be given to the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, forum outcomes will be applicable to new developments throughout NSW.
We will be focusing on four thematic areas:
#1 – Planning – How can sensing and data support help to meet regulatory/planning controls/requirements, and help developers achieve better outcomes for greenfield developments in Western Sydney?
#2 – Building and Construction - What are the opportunities for smart sensing to improve how new developments and infrastructure are designed and constructed?
#3 - Service Delivery - “How can smart sensing improve efficiency and effectiveness of the development process, compliance and ongoing local government service delivery?
#4 - People and the Environment – How can smart sensing be incorporated into greenfield developments to inform policy and practises relating to liveability, sustainability and resilient outcomes, in the face of a changing environment?
The outcomes we are expecting from the day will be several project concepts that will be progressed after the event.
The event will provide networking opportunities and opportunities for involvement in impactful projects that arise from it.Â
