    Event description

We warmly welcome you to join us for:

Sensory Processing: Supporting Children in their Homes, School, and Community Workshop.

A child’s ability to engage and learn within any environment is impacted by how their sensory system organises the information within it. Children with sensory processing challenges can find different sensory inputs, like sounds or different textures, overwhelming and disorganising. This session will help you to identify what is a Sensory Processing difficulty, how these difficulties impact on our children and most importantly how you can help (or find help) your child.

    Speaker: Hannah Edwards

Hannah Edwards is an occupational therapist who has worked in paediatrics for 20 years. Hannah currently works at The Gabrielle Centre for Children in the lower Blue Mountains, a multidisciplinary collaboration providing sensory based intervention to children aged 0 - 12 years. Hannah has spoken at two Down syndrome NSW Education conferences and supported the development of a Down syndrome group at Camp Jabiru. Hannah is the proud mother of two beautiful children, Flynn and Maiya. Flynn was born in 2007 and diagnosed with Down syndrome shortly after.
