Event description

Join Vision Australia’s Feelix Library and CBCA notable author Vikki Conley for a professional development session teaching the principles of sensory storytelling.

Sensory storytimes are an enriching experience for librarians and children, allowing a holistic approach to literacy, which supports the unique needs of children. Sensory storytelling helps create an inclusive environment for children who are blind, have low vision or neuro-divergent.

Designed for librarians and teacher librarians, this session will help you lift stories off the page, and engage with children in dynamic way. You will develop your practical storytelling skills and create tactile resources for your own sessions.

The session will be in person, with hands-on resource development.
