Purpose Precinct workshop
We’d love to invite the whole social enterprise sector to come and explore the opportunities at the Purpose Precinct at the Queen Victoria Markets.
🗓 Date: Wednesday, 7 December 2022
⏰ Time: 3.30PM-5PM Workshop and Visioning
📍 Location: Multicultural Hub, 506 Elizabeth St, Melbourne VIC 3000 (straight opposite QVM).
Who: Everyone welcome.
(This meeting is being held right before the Purpose Precinct launch to allow people to attend both events in person. Attendees at the workshop will have a 300m walk from the Multicultural Hub to String Bean Alley.)
At this meeting you’ll:
- Hear about the QVM Renewal Plan and the opportunities it opens up for the sector in the coming decade
- Hear about immediate opportunities for onsite retailing
- Hear about opportunities to incubate new products for the site in 2023
- Hear about planned training and employment pathways that will be created onsite
- Collectively brainstorm and dream about ways the Precinct can create growth opportunities for social enterprises right across the state.

We’d also love to invite you to the launch of the new social enterprise Purpose Precinct at the Queen Victoria Markets - this follows the workshop and tickets are not necessary.
⏰ Time: 5PM-7PM Launch, Meet the Makers and Tours
📍 Location: The Purpose Precinct, Shed MM, Peel Street end of String Bean Alley Queen Victoria Market (beside the wooden pallet sculpture near Peel St)
You’ll get to meet a bunch of the first social enterprises who have products retailed onsite, and also hear about the exciting plans for 2023. The launch also coincides with the Night Markets where you’ll be able to stay around to enjoy some food and drinks with friends and colleagues.
