September-October School Holidays 2024

At the beginning of each Farm Kids session we take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. We educate them about our cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. We discuss concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting and other ethical farming practices. The children get up close and personal with our pet chickens and when available we taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs.

Ages 5 and over

SESSIONS

Fri 27 Sep: Mini Farmers
9am - 3pm | The kids become mini farmers, do a farm tour, do farm chores, make lavender pikelets and in in craft make a candle and insect tic tac toe.

Wed 2 Oct: Herbs Workshop
9.30am - 12.30pm | A tour of The Farm, collect, smell and taste herbs, in craft make a lavender pillow and in cooking make rosemary salt.

Thu 3 Oct: Nature Craft Workshop
9.30am - 12.30pm | A tour of The Farm, collect items to make our nature crafts, make a wall hanging and a candle.

Fri 4 Oct: Mini Farmers
9am - 3pm | The kids become mini farmers, do a farm tour, do farm chores, make homemade soap, do some bee craft and cook homemade dukkah.

Wed 9 Oct: Flowers Workshop
9.30am - 12.30pm | A tour of The Farm, forage for and learn about flowers, make a suncatcher and a flower bath bomb.

Thu 10 Oct: Veggies Workshop
9.30am - 12.30pm | A tour of The Farm, pick and taste veggies from the garden, make a veggie and dip platter and craft a Mr Potato Head.

Fri 11 Oct: Mini Farmers
9am - 3pm | The kids become mini farmers, do a farm tour, do farm chores, make bath bombs, a lavender pillow and cook pesto pasta.

WHAT TO BRING

Children will need:

• Sturdy walking shoes
• Raincoat
• Sunhat
• Healthy lunch and snacks and water bottle for the day
• Backpack (to carry above)
• All items need to be labelled

WHERE TO MEET

We will meet at the Farm House opposite the restaurant. Please look out for the signs to guide you.

AGES

These workshops are appropriate for children aged 5 and older. If your child is 4 they can come with siblings and you will need to remain onsite at The Farm. Children as old as 15 have enjoyed our workshops. Checkout our Mini Farmers program if you want a full day working farm experience.
