Description

Welcome to the WORLD PREMIERE of Seraphim the Musical

When a young Brighton girl dies in a freak accident, instead of going to heaven she’s given the opportunity to become a Seraphim - an angel placed on earth to defend humanity. But being dropped into a rural Queensland school while learning new powers, fighting off demons (& boys) isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seraphim uses the culture shock of the English seaside to Australian outback to frame this story of self discovery, grief & moving on.

This is a more mature show than our norm, and we have put an age recommendation on this workshop of 9+.

Brought to life by the students of BeXD Create in just six days as part of our Musical in a Week holiday program - this new musical is heartfelt, intense and empowering.

Welcome to BeXD!

We're an Ipswich and Brisbane-based musical theatre company creating original Australian musicals and opportunities for people of all ages to experience the joy of live theatre.

Founded by writers and composers Will and Katie Toft, BeXD brings together musical theatre education, original production development and international theatrical licensing.

Through BeXD Create, we run our popular Musical in a Week school holiday workshops, where young performers work together to rehearse and stage an original musical in just six days. Every production is an opportunity to develop performance skills, build confidence, make new friends and experience the excitement of bringing a show to life.

We believe musical theatre is about much more than becoming a great singer, dancer or actor. It's about finding your voice, feeling confident in your own skin, connecting with like-minded people and having the freedom to express yourself creatively.

We're also passionate about creating new Australian musical theatre. Through projects like the BeXD Creative Incubator (BCI), we bring young performers into the development process, working collaboratively to explore new songs, scenes and characters and help shape original musicals.

Through BeXD Licensing, our original musicals go on to be performed by schools, youth theatres, professional theatres and community theatre organisations around the world. Every show is developed with real performers and creative teams in mind, with meaningful ensemble opportunities and flexible casting at the heart of what we create.

Whether you're joining us for a school holiday musical, participating in a creative workshop or coming along to see one of our performances, we'd love to welcome you to BeXD.
