Serene Green is a traditional bluegrass band from Northeastern Pennsylvania featuring Quentin Fisher, Michael Johnson, Steve Leonard, Katelynn Casper and Sam Zolla.

Serene Green's desire is to honor the traditional side of bluegrass demonstrated by the pioneers of the genre, while also showcasing its original compositions and uniqueness. Since the band's inception in 2017, Serene Green has played in three countries and in over twenty of the United States, performed at countless festivals and venues alongside many nationally- and internationally-touring acts, and released three studio albums.

"Pennsylvania boasts a rich history within bluegrass music. Del McCoury, Bob Paisley, Gloria Belle Flickinger, and Tom Adams are just a few that have come from the Keystone State. Although Serene Green hasn’t been around nearly as long as the aforementioned names, they certainly should be included within that talented list. Sam Steffen is a homegrown Godfrey Daniels singer-songwriter whose songs are the torchwood for a new generation of folk music, and who has learned from the best stuff in the tradition. Originally from Bethlehem, PA, Sam's music career can be traced back to the Godfrey's stage, where he started as a regular volunteer and open mic performer. His versatile musicianship, finger-picking, and storytelling have made him an outstanding voice in the Americana folk genre. He’s been writing songs for almost 15 years and has collected a vast arsenal of original and topical tunes ranging from the personal to the political. He currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta, with his wife and dog.
