Life in the red zone is a feature production within this series.
Dreamtime - Our living waters have been created by the Rainbow Serpent, the creator of rivers and waterholes connecting the ecosystems. This flow brings life like magic throughout the landscape capturing rain off the giant mountains and down through the rivers that feed our magnificent country with their life blood. It is our job to live in harmony.
However, chemical giants have coerced governments into creating a red zone around two of Australia’s most fertile and fastest growing cities Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The red zone includes ancient rainforests, crucial water supplies, major river systems and fertile agricultural lands. The red zone is the epicentre for the world's largest chemical distribution program which has led to enormous biodiversity loss and the collapse of major ecosystems.
These fertile and forested cities have been targeted for an aerial poisoning regime. The 'intention' to target one ant authorities dub as the red fire ant. However, these insecticides and poisons are highly toxic. The flow on effects will potentially harm every living creature, within Australia, as the silent killers make their way through every essence of our ecosystems.
This is a David and Goliath battle as residents within the red zone rise to raise alarm bells on the dire consequences that have been unfolding in the wake of this damaging program. We follow central characters shell shocked after aerial bombing, invasion of rights, poisoning, dismissal, death of loved ones, pets and the decimation of surrounding wildlife.
The filmmaker understanding the deep connections in our ecosystems joins forces alongside the cast of dedicated warriors as they raise the alarm and fight for justice for our living waters. The underlying plot unfolds our addiction to chemicals, the desire for circular economy, a media controlled narrative and an inability to reflect on harm. A game of life and death to avoid the collapse of entire ecosystems.
Australia a land that belongs to the dreamtime serpent holds some of the greatest natural wonders from Gondwanan rainforests to the Great Barrie Reef. This state of Queensland where the story unfolds needs your help, as this program plans on becoming national. From this point forward how we treat the soils of Australia and the waterways will reflect on how we treat ourselves and our species. Anyone who cares for country will want to see this film and change the course of history to stop this program in its tracks before these silent killers make their way through every essence of our environment.
