Event description

Sutherland Shire Council and Sutherland Shire Reconciliation invite you to join in a special Reconciliation Week film screening of Servant or Slave (M).

Servant or Slave is the confronting story of five Indigenous Australian women. Told in their own words, it reveals the story of how they were removed from their families and forced into cruel conditions amounting to secret slavery. Servant or Slave was directed by First Nations filmmaker Steven McGregor, and stars Dubs Yunupingu.

The film will kick off from 12.30pm and be followed by a panel discussion. Bookings are essential.

National Reconciliation Week 2025 is a time for all Australians to learn about shared histories, cultures and achievements. This year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects on the ongoing connection between past, present, and future.
