Tidal Rhythms - 'Giants of the Southern Ocean'
Description
Giants of the Southern Ocean
Come and discover the awe-inspiring world of the Giants of the Southern Ocean.
Due to limited places, registration is essential for this unique opportunity to listen, learn and draw the creatures and habitats of the deeper Southern Ocean.
Join Creative Ecologist Chris Rockley and Deakin Marine Ecologists to explore the habitats and the giant sea creatures that live there. Draw directly onto a vintage piano scroll as part of a growing community artwork celebrating our marine environment.
Explore the larger marine species of the Southern Ocean, from sharks and rays to whales and giant squid, and learn about the important role they play in ocean ecosystems.
Add your drawing to the community scroll on the day, or take home a numbered scroll to continue drawing throughout the year. These individual scrolls will become part of a major community art installation at the 2028 Upwelling Festival.
All materials supplied.
Suitable for beginners through to experienced artists. No drawing experience required.
This is one of five creative sessions planned as part of this community project.
