Setting a Global Research Agenda for Service-Learning and Community Engagement: Data Analysis
Event description
Join us for a regional gathering focused on advancing research in service-learning and community engagement (SLCE) on the 24th of June 2025. Part 2 of a 2-part series. You don’t need to have attended the first session to participate in this one.
We are excited to invite you to the second of two input sessions for the Australia and New Zealand region on Tuesday, 24th of June 2025 from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM AEST. This session will focus on analysing data that should shape future studies in SLCE.
As part of a global initiative to strengthen the study and practice of SLCE across educational systems, the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE) has been hosting a series of input sessions. These sessions bring together practitioners, partners, researchers, and scholars to share their perspectives on the key questions and issues that should guide future research in the field. So far, 25 sessions have been held with over 500 participants from 34 countries.
Join us for a virtual working session on June 24th, hosted by Engagement Australia in partnership with the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE), as we continue our contribution to a Global Research Agenda for Service-Learning and Community Engagement.
This session follows a regional data collection meeting held on 14 May 2025, where 275 research questions and ideas were gathered from colleagues across Australia and New Zealand. Now, it’s time to dive into the data.
In this session, participants will:
Collaboratively analyze, organize, and prioritise the submitted research questions
Work in small groups using a systematic method developed by IARSLCE
Draft the Australia/New Zealand section of the global research agenda
The outcomes of this session will directly contribute to IARSLCE’s Global Research Agenda, to be presented at the 25th Anniversary Conference in Durban, South Africa this August.
