Paid, or formal support, can have an important and enriching role in supporting people with disability to have good lives. People with disabilities and families know from experience that if it’s not done well, rather than contributing to positive outcomes, paid support can limit, and act as a barrier rather than a bridge to the good life.

Presented as a two part webinar series find out in webinar 1 how you can set the direction for success with your paid supports and in webinar 2 how you can develop the skills and confidence to get the most out of paid supports.

Who Should Attend

This webinar series is relevant to people with disability and family members who have paid supports, services or organisations in their life, regardless of how their funding is managed. Workers, friends and allies are also very welcome.

Learning Objectives

To understand what formal support is and what it is not
To understand the importance of directing your supports and why its fundamental to using supports well to achieve a good life
To explore and reflect why it's important to start with the person and their vision and goals to determine the type of support you want
Analyse how to find the right supports to achieve your vison and goals
To consider where you might find the right supports and what options you have available to you.
