Sew a Whetū , Mairangi Arts Centre, Saturday 5th July 11am-1pm
Event description
Join us for Sew a Whetū, a hands-on, whānau-friendly workshop celebrating the timeless skill of sewing. Perfect for tamariki of all ages, this creative event offers two tailored activities: younger children (ages 5–7) can learn basic stitches using cardboard templates designed for little hands, while older kids (7+) will sew a fabric whetū (star) using needle and thread.
Whether you’re passing down knowledge or learning alongside your child, this is a special opportunity to connect, create, and keep traditional skills alive. All materials provided.
Nau mai, haere mai – all whānau welcome!
When: Saturday 5 July, 11 am - 1 pm
Where: Mairangi Art Centre, 20 Hastings Rd, Auckland 0630.
