Sewing Machine Maintenance at repair co-lab
Event Description
Learn how to look after your sewing machine yourself, and keep it running smoothly.
We will cover cleaning and oiling, bobbin case and needle care, and how to check the tension on your sewing machine, as well as how to store it safely.
You'll also receive a handout to take home outlining all the course content.
Bring along your machine to work on, including its manual if you still have it, or Google it to find the online version.
We look forward to welcoming you into the newly launched repair co-lab space!
8 people minimum required for course to go ahead.
Tutor Bio

Sandy McGivern-Butler-Moore lives in Waiuku and is an avid repairer. When her beloved retro Husqvarna sewing machine broke and was declared not worth fixing by the machine repairer, she entered the world of vintage and retro sewing machine repairs and became fascinated with how machines work and how we can take better care of them.
