Sewing Made Simple: Create Your Own Bag
Event description
Borrow, Learn, Create with The Sydney Library of Things
We’re excited to launch a new workshop series at the Coal Loader in partnership with The Sydney Library of Things! Each session highlights handy items you can borrow from the Waverton branch and teaches you practical, beginner-friendly skills to save money, reduce waste and build confidence. From sewing your own bag to getting started with power tools, you’ll learn how to make the most of what’s available to borrow instead of buy.
Workshop 1: Sewing Made Simple: Create Your Own Bag
Ever wanted to try your hand at sewing? Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the basics of using a sewing machine and walk away with a bag you’ve made yourself!
Perfect for beginners, this session will guide you step-by-step - from threading the machine to stitching your very first project. Come along, get creative, and leave with a bag that’s as unique as you are.
We can provide a machine for you or bring your own machine (and user manual) if you have one.
This workshop is for ages 16+
Please remember - these workshops have very limited capacity, if you can no longer attend, please cancel your tickets via the manage my booking button in your confirmation email or contact coalloader@northsydney.nsw.gov.au
