Sewing Workshop Series with Studio Thimbles

🪡 Join Olga and her team from Studio Thimbles to learn how to use visible mending to fix and revive your items! 🧵 This workshop series is designed to teach you some practical mending skills and encourage you to get creative, and personalise your clothing 👕.
❗Note: This is a 3-part workshop and attendees will need to attend the entire series ❗
This workshop series runs over three weeks:
Workshop 1 - Friday 26th September, 6pm - 8:30pm (Studio Thimbles)
Workshop 2 - Friday 3rd October, 6pm - 8:30pm (Studio Thimbles)
Workshop 3 - Saturday, 11th October, 9.30am - 11.30am (Evelyn H Parker Library, Subiaco)
Workshop 1 & 2 will be held at Studio Thimbes where you will learn:
Fundamental skills for hand sewing, such as setting up the needle, tying proper knots and how to start & finish your stitching
Various hand-stitching methods that are essential for mending
How to do embroidery stitching to add decorative elements to the mending process
Elements of Sashiko stitching, a traditional Japanese technique that is popular in the world of visible mending
For Workshop 3, please bring in a personal item to mend and join WMRC for the Great Global Mend.
Councils across Perth will be making a record attempt to have the most amount of people mending from 11am, so please feel free to register a friend for FREE from 10.45am - 12.30pm: https://events.humanitix.com/the-great-global-mend-with-wmrc
Please note that workshop 3 will be held at Evelyn H Parker Library, Subiaco.
🚗Parking: Parking is available at Subi Carpark located on the corner of Rokeby Rd & Barker Rd. Visit https://www.subiaco.wa.gov.au/... to find more local car parks. Alternatively, the studio is only a short walk from the Subiaco train station.
Catering: Light snacks will be provided.

This event is suitable for 18+ years.
Member council tickets are available to residents from Claremont, Cottesloe, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove & Subiaco. General admission tickets are available for Cambridge, Nedlands and residents from other councils.
Tickets are limited and non-refundable.
