*Only 12 spots available*
Life limiting illnesses can impact people in a variety of different ways, including sexuality and intimacy.
In collaboration with Palliative Care Tasmania, Family Planning Tasmania has received funding from Primary Health Tasmania to deliver free workshops across Tasmania for palliative care workers and allied health staff. These workshops aim to enhance conversations with patients about sexuality and intimacy in palliative care.
The workshops will be facilitated by Family Planning Tasmania’s relationships and sexuality educator and training sexologist Lauren Hay, along with nurse, midwife, and training sexologist Amanda Duncan.
Workshop objectives:
- Increase awareness of sexuality and intimacy approaches in palliative care
- Improve understanding of palliative care concepts and principles
- Enhance communication skills for developing and delivering palliative care services
- Support the adoption of person-centred care in palliative care settings
- Build confidence in providing end-of-life support and counselling related to sexuality and intimacy
