Local Filmmakers Debut "Beehives and Bottomturns": A Short Film Celebrating Beekeeping and Surfing.

Torquay, Australia - "Beehives and Bottomturns," a short film exploring the connection between beekeeping and climate, featuring local surfer/beekeeper Tom. Beekeeper Tom from Coastal Nectar (coastalnectar.com.au) shreds the local waves, educates Bellbrae Primary and teaches us about all things bees. This film will showcase the synergy between bees and the environment while capturing the spirit of surfing.

Produced by SFC Custom Films (a new local formation of Torquay filmmakers) in collaboration with Surfers For Climate. "Beehives and Bottomturns" is the first of a series of documentaries, aiming to raise awareness about environmental issues. Directed by Brad Coetzee, produced by Sarah Hall, and cinematography by Natalia Villa.

We also have the opportunity for a local artist to showcase an ocean-based short film (under 10 mins) prior to the main film - If you are instead in being a part of this, please send in your submission via our email or socials, by 28th June 24. Details below.

Join us on July 4th at Bells Beach Brewery for an evening of entertainment and enlightenment, featuring live music by the one and only Grim Fawkner, the premiere of "Beehives and Bottomturns," and a Q&A session with Tom and filmmakers.
