Shabbat Schmooze: Stories of Survival, Rescue and Recovery | Collab with ZDVO

YJP Melbourne and ZDVO invite you to a meaningful and inspiring Shabbat Schmooze, bringing together young Jewish adults for an evening of connection, reflection and powerful storytelling.

We will hear firsthand from two courageous heroes whose lives were profoundly impacted by the events of October 7 and the war that followed.

Elad is a cybersecurity researcher who served as part of a rescue and evacuation team in Gaza. He will share his experiences helping others through extraordinary and confronting circumstances.

Ido was critically wounded in an explosion in northern Gaza. His story is one of resilience, rehabilitation and recovery, offering a deeply personal perspective on courage and rebuilding after trauma.

Together, their stories offer a rare opportunity to hear directly from those who experienced the realities of war, while reflecting on strength, responsibility, hope and the enduring spirit of the people of Israel.
