IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE COVID-19 RETURN TO SHULE PROCEDURES

  • healthy individuals who do not have a temperature or any cold or flu-like symptoms
  • individuals who have not been in contact with anyone who has the virus 
  • individuals who have not returned from travel in the past 14 days (nor been in contact with people who have returned from overseas travel in the past 14 days

Congregants at high health risk, such as the elderly or those with significant medical co-morbidities or immune-compromised, should consult their doctor before seeking to attend shule.


Tickets

  • The ticket confirmation does not need to be presented (electronic copy on phone or hard copy) on arrival, names will be available through the booking system of all activities and attendees, to enable traceability and ensure that at no point in time will there be more than 100 individuals present. 
  • Attending Services
  • Prior to entry, every individual will have their temperature taken. A person who registers a temperature above 37.2 degrees will not be allowed entry. 
  • Entry will be restricted to healthy individuals who do not have a temperature or any cold or flu-like symptoms; have not been in contact with anyone who has the virus and have not returned from travel in the past 14 days. Congregants at high health risk, such as the elderly or those with significant medical co-morbidities or immune-compromised, should consult their doctor before seeking to attend shule. 
  • We encourage all attendees to download and run the Government’s CovidSafe App on their mobile phone and to bring that mobile phone with them when they attend weekday shule minyanim and activities. This app can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store or Google Play. 
  • Prior to entering the shule and while in the  the shule building, all individuals must maintain the required social distancing, ie at all times maintain a social distance of 1.5m from other individuals.  
  • On entering the shule or the Beit Midrash, all individuals must adhere to hand hygiene procedures, including thoroughly sanitizing hands upon entry using the hand sanitizer that has been placed at the entrance (and in the Shule and Beit Midrash) or washing hands with soap and water.
  • When coughing and/or sneezing cover the nose and mouth with tissues or your elbow and immediately dispose of the tissue/s in the dustbins provided in the shule.
  • Avoid all physical contact including handshakes, hugs and high fives. 
  • Please do not kiss Sifrei Torah, mezuzot, siddurim or any other items under any circumstances (even if they fall to the ground). Touching them should also be avoided. 
  • If possible, please bring your own siddur / chumash from home for use at shule.  If this is not possible, choose one siddur from shule and keep it in a place that it can be retrieved from by you for future use. 
  • Only the main shule, the Beit Midrash and the toilet facilities may be accessed, all other areas are off-limits and should not be accessed. 
  • Seats should be used that maintain a physical distance of 1.5m between people.  This may mean that you sit one or two seats apart from the next person and that you do not sit in your usual seat.  

Please be patient and courteous when addressing the people implementing the procedures (which will take time).  These people are representatives of the PHC and are acting on direct instruction of the Board of Management and the Rabbi.  They are required to apply these policies and procedures in a standardised manner for all individuals, with no exception.
