About Shadow Liberation
Shadow Liberation uses creatively crafted visual stories to captivate the imagination and invite audiences to interrupt the injustice of sexual violence and oppression. The method integrates Drama Therapy to be trauma informed, Theatre of the Oppressed as a participatory method for critical dialogue and Shadow Theatre’s aesthetic richness in representing the otherwise unspeakable. Shadow Liberation has instigated dialogue at dozens of community venues and 36 Colleges and Universities across 3 continents, since 2010.

About Evan Hastings
Evan has a passion for turning pain into medicine through theatre. He is the Founder of Shadow Liberation and a Professional Member of ANZACATA. He has an MA in Counselling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, CA, USA and a BA in Performance Education from the Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA, USA.
