An embodied Journey into the Unseen ~ Medicine Dance Sanctuary

What might you discover when you stop looking outward and begin to feel your way within?

Inspired by the ancient traditions of Halloween and Day of the Dead, SHADOW is an invitation to journey inward, honour the unseen and explore the parts of ourselves we have hidden, suppressed or left unexplored.. ✨

Shadow work is the art of bringing the unconscious into awareness, meeting ourselves with honesty, compassion and courage and welcoming home the parts of us we have learned to hide. Through this process, darkness becomes fertile ground for insight, integration and transformation.

As October draws to a close, we enter this season rich with symbolism - it can be a time to honour those who have passed, reflect on the cycles of life, death and renewal and remember the deeper mysteries often lost beneath the commercialism of modern Halloween. Through sound, ritual and embodied movement, we create space to explore what lies beneath the surface.

Our journey includes:

* Blindfolded somatic movement

* Medicine Dance Journey

* Integration circle

Journeying in darkness, we soften our reliance on outward sight and turn inward, listening to the wisdom of the body, emotions and intuition. Then as the blindfolds come off, we carry this awareness into free-form dance, allowing the body to express what words cannot.

We close in sacred circle, making space to reflect, integrate and honour whatever has emerged.

This gathering is for Women drawn to ritual, inner exploration, embodied movement/dance and authentic connection.

Enter the darkness not to lose yourself, but to reclaim the parts of yourself you have forgotten.

🌟 MARNIE DEVI HUDSON - dance, yoga, meditation, ritual, elemental embodiment, dance, personal transformation, conscious awakening, is my way of life! It was through the transformative and liberating nature of Ecstatic Dance, that I discovered an authentic, heart-centred awakening. In 2014, Marnie completed her teacher training with Malaika Darville to facilitate 5 ELEMENTS DANCE. Soon after Medicine Dance was born. Ever since, she has been holding Medicine Dance and her divine offerings on local dance floors and at private retreats.

MEDICINE DANCE is a moving dynamic meditation, an ecstatic, somatic dance journey guided by the elements of nature, the elements in ourselves, the elements of life... and our interconnection with it ALL. Marnie will intuitively guide you, accompanied by an awesome musical soundscape along with the collective energy of the group, for a deeply felt, releasing, liberating, expansive, transformational, healing and connective dance experience.

Mid 2020, Marnie turned her practice to an ALL Women's Sanctuary. With select themes to explore and additional guest co-creators, the full experience offers an opening for a deeper, more wholesome experience. Medicine Dance Sanctuary creates an opportunity for a rich, deeply connected sisterhood to flourish.

Mid 2022, Marnie trained to learn the sacred alchemy of the medicinal magic of CACAO.

Embodied Dance is like giving gesture to what is inward - allowing the body to feel and express what is occurring inside - and discovering what that is, through the movement.

In this way Dance is healing because just as riverbeds are shaped by the water that moves through them, we humans are shaped by the feelings and experiences that move through us.

As we begin to explore allowing feeling to move through us - we demystify feeling and restore it to the body’s natural ability to have sensation and to use this ability to fully experience life. 

Our bodies are designed to feel and if we have lost touch with this embodied dancing is a profound way to restore this capacity.

It is a journey of arriving in the body and entering the stream of movement.. 

Elemental Embodiment is a way of Being connected and receiving all the medicine and wisdom of the elements and to deeply feel the body as a temple space for that life force energy to flow through. 🌟 ANNIE RIDGEWAY - musician, sound healing practitioner and educator. Annie will guide us through a shamanic drum sound journey. Through the primal rhythms and vibrations of these ancient instruments she will invite us to enter deeper into the experience, supporting our connection with the body, inner awareness and the unseen.
