Event description

About Shadow Tantra

Our erotic shadow is often hidden, suppressed by culture, family, or fear. Desires to control or be controlled, to unleash our inner beast or slut, to surrender into unrestrained pleasure, to live with wild sexual abandon… your unique desires can often carry shame, confusion, and there can be fear that if we explore these archetypal qualities we will become lost, out of control, shamed, disrespected, and worry that we will be perceived as “too much” or “not enough.”

Yet, these archetypes and energies are gateways to love, power, and self-knowledge. When we shine light into the hidden recesses of our erotic selves, we discover profound opportunities for healing, empowerment, and playful expansion.

When shit is hitting the fan across the globe, one thing we can do is balance outward action with inward journey. True inner work means facing our own shadow, because how can we expect others to meet theirs if we haven’t faced ours? This is the essence of Shadow Tantra, and why our motto is: Conscious Kink Saves The World.

What You’ll Take Away

Over our two day immersive weekend, you will:

  • Root into embodied, heart-led boundaries and consent - learning to communicate with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

  • Play with energy exchange and power dynamics - discovering how to play with energy and the shadows of control, surrender, and desire.

  • Explore archetypes, ritual, and BDSM techniques - within a brave, consensual, and trauma-informed container.

  • Embodied shadow work - be witnessed and held in community

  • Develop tools & practices for intimacy, healing, and wild-hearted fun - that you can bring into your life and relationships.

This two-day weekend is an opportunity to consciously explore your more taboo impulses and desires, always with choice, respect, and curiosity.

Shadow Tantra invites you into the deepest recesses of your psyche, offering powerful tools of intimacy and connection, as well as light-hearted playfulness and everything in between (with loads of sound effects!)

Who Is This For?

This workshop welcomes people of all genders and sexual orientations. We are explicitly welcoming our LGBTQIA2+ community, exercises are designed to be inclusive and will not rely on heterosexual pairings.

Please be mindful of your mental, physical and emotional capacity to enter into this shadow realm of your psyche in this embodied way. If you are working with active trauma and do not feel well supported, this workshop may not be the right fit for you at this time. Seani and Emerald May are both trauma informed practitioners, but this is not a 1:1 container or therapy space. If you need to discuss your suitability for this workshop, you can email Seani: seani@seanilove.com or Emerald: hello@rootedpleasure.com.

Please know that racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, fatphobia, ableism, and ageism will not be tolerated here. We are committed to creating a space rooted in respect, dignity, and consent, whilst also exploring the taboo and shadow of our psyches.

Your Facilitation Team:

Seani Love (he/him) has been teaching erotic ritual techniques to clients, private groups, couples and workshops since 2010. A long-term explorer in this unique field, Seani received the prestigious industry award ‘Sex Worker of the Year’ in London in November 2015. His work combines ritual techniques, Conscious Kink, Neotantra, and many other disciplines. His sessions and workshops enable his clients to go on profound journeys into their inner worlds, helping them find power, wisdom, love, and pleasure within themselves. Seani will be doing a limited number of private sessions while in Portland. Contact him directly for details seani@seanilove.com

Emerald May (she/her) is a Portland-based Somatic Intimacy Coach & Bodyworker, and trauma-informed breathwork coach, who also works online. Her work is queer-, kink-, and poly-affirming, grounded in a deep respect for each person’s unique pace and path.
