Ghost Media & Third Eye Hi-Fi Presents: SHAKEDOWN @ The Grand ft. BREAKAGE, PAIGE JULIA, EBB & MORE

Ghost Media, Third Eye Hi-Fi and Jungle Juice are teaming up to bring you a spectacular multi-level rave at The Grand, with three stages stacked to the brim with cutting edge dance music that will shake your socks off: prepare for the SHAKEDOWN.

Our headliner, flying in all the way from the UK, is none other than BREAKAGE, a true pioneer and purveyor of top quality rave music. Known for his distinctive blend of jungle and drum n bass, as well as notable forays into the world of dubstep including "Hard", a now legendary collaboration with Newham Generals, Breakage has been making tunes since the early 2000s, working alongside esteemed artists such as Shy FX, Break, Liam Bailey, David Rodigan, Orbital, Roots Manuva, Sam Binga, Sinead Harnett, D Double E and Dismantle, as well as releasing on labels such as Critical, Bassbin and Digital Soundboy. He floats seamlessly between the underground and the mainstream, demonstrating deftly that you don't have to compromise your approach to be big in the game.

Joining him from Ōtautahi we have EBB, a powerhouse of Aotearoa's bass music scene who is turning heads worldwide with his swampish tendencies, manifesting in a unique blend of drum n bass, dubstep and techno, with notable releases on labels such as 1985 and Modern Hypnosis. We've been looking for an excuse to get this donny up in Pōneke for a hot minute and we can't wait to hear him doing damage on the Third Eye Hi-Fi.

We also have the one and only PAIGE JULIA, one of the most iconic exports from the Wellington music scene, now residing in Otautahi. She has turned heads with her exciting blend of jungle, dubstep and drum n bass, even winning the Aotearoa Music Award for 'Best Electronic Artist' in 2021. We hosted Paige for her 1985 release party earlier in the year and it was one of the most packed shows we've done this year, so expect things to get seriously deep with whirring cogs and matrix machinations when this bass wizard steps on stage.

Opening up proceedings downstairs we have local legend ZUKE (Kita, Rhian Sheehan, Isaac Chambers) warming things up with his unique flavours of jungle and bass. We also have a very special guest who we can't announce just yet, but we are sure you'll absolutely love.

Upstairs we have two stages of techno mayhem to keep the rave pumping, hosted by Ghost Media and Jungle Juice respectively. For Ghost Media, we've enlisted some of the capital's heaviest hitters, with rolling b2bs all night courtesy of some local legends: techno siblings LICIOUS b2b CALICO, rising stars SWIMCAP b2b STARGIRL, familiar favourites FLATMATE b2b FOXTROT, and Terminal45's very own BUNA b2b JAPR rounding us off with some pounding hardgroove.

On the other side of the curtain we have party specialists Jungle Juice cultivating their decadent atmosphere with performances from VNESS b2b D5M and SMUDA b2b BY ACCIDENT. This crew have been throwing some of the funnest parties in Wellington over the last year and we're excited to share a space with them for the first time! We are truly spoiled for choice...

Curating the visual side of things, its a big night so we've enlisted the big guns - we have all-round legend and national icon VJ CUBEMAN running the vibes downstairs, with projection mapper extraordinaire VJ LIGHTSMITH doing the business upstairs.

If you're into big nights, you won't want to miss this one. We have 100 limited $20 early birds available for the swift-fingered, available from Humanitix - secure yours now and get ready for the Shakedown.

PLEASE NOTE - Shakedown is intended to be a safe space, free from judgment and full of compassion, where partygoers can express themselves without inhibition. If you or anybody around you is feeling unsafe, please come and speak to one of the PŌNEKE PARTY GUARDIANS, who will be stationed around the venue wearing pink vests.

Look after yourself.

Look after each other.

Consent is key - keep your hands to yourself.

Stay hydrated.

Dance hard.

Bring the good vibes.
