Event description

Have you got a hunger to hurry? An appetite for acceleration? Perhaps it's more of a need for speed? Well it's time to burn rubber 'cos Shandy is back with a party that's automatic, it's systematic, and it's hyyyydromatic. Why it's...

SHANDY: FULLY LOADED

friday 21st october | 8:30pm - 3am | black bear lodge

Hop in, crank up the NOS & put your foot down, as Shandy invites you to go for a hoon around the dancefloor at Black Bear Lodge as we welcome the QUEEN OF JERSEY CLUB...

UNIIQU3

UNIIQU3
is the future of global dance music, and continues to raise the bar by pushing the sound of Jersey Club forward. Starting off as an in-demand vocalist, she quickly solidified herself as one of the most electrifying producers in the game - with her recent track 'Microdosing' delivering heat across dancefloors worldwide - all the while, spreading the gospel of Jersey Club: both locally by throwing some of Jersey’s hottest DIY events, and touring the globe. For those of you who are unfamiliar, UNIIQU3 neatly summed up 'Jersey Club' as "your morning coffee and your midnight Red Bull... the best genre, ranging from 130 to 140BPM with hard kicks and catchy vocals." For a taste of her magic, check out her Soundcloud.

Coming up the rear in hot pursuit, we also have some of Meanjin's swiftest DJ sweeties ready to take us for a high octane ride throughout the evening, including:
- LIL POMPOM
- LITHE
- NEESHA ALEXANDER
- SCALYMOTH
- ST4CEY4101

♿️👁 ACCESS 👂🔊
Unfortunately the venue is not wheelchair accessible, as it can only be accessed by a staircase.

Strobe lights are not used during the event, however lights may occasionally move at a fast speed.

The venue is essentially one large room, but there is an area with seating that is quieter near the entrance.

📓 GROUND RULES ⚖️
~ We want people to feel as safe and welcome as possible, so please feel free to message the Shandy Instagram or Facebook page with any queries or concerns.
~ As always, please don't assume any one's gender or pronouns - if you wanna chat with someone, try giving them a compliment and asking what pronouns they use.
~ Consent is key – ask before touching and await a clear response; fuck yes or no, thank you!
~ The bathrooms will not be gendered - they either have urinals, or don't.
~ Be respectful and considerate – do your bit to make the space safer and more comfortable for others: a party is only as good as the people attending, and we all have a role to play in having the best night ever!
~ Racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, or transphobic behaviour/attitudes will not be tolerated. Please see the bar staff or door people if someone is making you uncomfortable.
~ Last but not least, look out for your friends and other party-goers & stay hydrated!

Last, but certainly not least, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we hold this event, the Turrbal, Jagera/Yuggera peoples and pay respects to Elders, past and present - and also pay respects and offer our love to the First Nations community attending our event.

We recognise that Sovereignty was never ceded and that we live and gather on stolen land.
