We all know that time flies when you're having fun - it's the reason why a good night out always seems to pass by far too quickly. But what happens if you REALLY kick it up a notch?

Shandy's crack team of party theorists have finally cracked the code. We've devised a method to harness the energetic potential of the dancefloor to accelerate time so fast that it actually opens a portal into time itself!

And so once again, this Labour Day Weekend (yes, the Monday after is a public holiday), Shandy invites you to take a trip through time - as we tempt temporal paradoxes and cross chronologies for…

🌌 sunday 4th may | 8pm – 3:00am | echo&bounce 🌌 

We've secured echo & bounce as our base of operations for the evening, and will be using the building as our time machine to hurtle us across the space-time continuum and into unknown eras - the flux capacitors are installed and our amusement amplifiers are dialled in, and so the only remaining piece of the puzzle is YOU: our intrepid time travellers.

Ensuring our portals are fully dilated, we have a rotation of the continent's finest selectors from across the ages operating across every level of the venue, featuring…

• There is free entry for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people & Trans Women (Femme Queens) of Colour; and
• We will do everything we can to accommodate & welcome anyone with no/low income who wants to party - shoot us a message on the Shandy Facebook page or Instagram and we'll work something out with you.

🧤 COSTUMING 🥽

As you embark on this TIMEWARP with us as time travellers, we invite you to dress the part! Think Doctor Who, Back to the Future, steampunk or even period costuming - anything that you feel would be appropriate for a time traveller! Just be mindful that culturally appropriative costuming is strictly not accepted. Check if you are wearing a piece of cultural dress from a culture that is not your own, and then take it off. Shandy is not for objectifying/appropriating culture but instead a space to celebrate and uplift all <3

🎵 NOTES FOR THE EVENING 🎶

• As always, try not to assume gender, sexuality, or pronouns – if you’re chatting and vibing with someone, you might wanna briefly ask for their pronouns - and don’t make it into big deal if you get ‘em wrong: just say a quick sorry and move it along.
• Consent is key – ask before touching and await a clear response; fuck yes or no thank you!
• Be respectful and considerate – do your bit to make the space safer and more comfortable for others: a party is only as good as the people attending, and we all have a role to play in having the best night ever!
• Racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, or transphobic behaviour/attitudes will not be tolerated. Please see Shandy team members, barstaff or security if someone is making you uncomfortable.
• We want people to feel as safe and welcome as possible, so please feel free to message the Shandy Instagram or Facebook page with any queries or concerns.

♿️👁 ACCESS 👂🔊

• The venue is wheelchair accessible to the courtyard, however is not wheel-chair accessible to the other spaces. The main bar is accessed from one short flight of stairs, the basement is an additional flight of stairs from the bar down, and the loft spaces are accessible from two-flights of external stairs from the courtyard. 
• Strobe lights will not be used during the event and we endeavour to ensure no strobe effect will be used in any lighting design on the night.
• With regard to sensory concerns, the venues' different spaces vary in size, with the basement having a low ceiling and low lighting, while the loft spaces have high ceilings but limited airflow. The courtyard will be available throughout the night as a lower-sensory space, however music will be playing in this area until approximately midnight.
