Share and learn – Using the Workforce Capability Framework & Resources - Cairns 2026
Description
A yarn about what's working, what's not, and what we can build together.
Join us for a practical three-hour workshop where we will explore the Workforce Capability Framework and resources together, and hear how workers and services are putting it to use.

Whether you know the Framework well or have never opened it, you'll walk away with something useful.
Come along to:
get to know the Framework and the resources that sit alongside it
see how other workers and services are using it in real, everyday situations
explore how it can support learning, development and good practice in your service
try out the resources and work through where they might be useful for you
share your own experienes, tips and ideas with others in the room
talk about what would make the Framework and resources more accessible and useful for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers and services
Already using the Framework? Your experience could be exactly what helps someone get started.
Haven’t picked it up yet? Come and learn from those who have - no prior knowledge needed.
What we hear on the day will also help WorkUP understand what is supporting access and take-up, and where the Framework and resources could be strengthened.
Everyone is welcome. Come along, have a yarn, and take away something you can use.
We would love everyone coming along to stay for lunch at 12.30pm.

About the facilitator/s
Anoushka Dowling
Anoushka is a registered psychologist with years of experience in domestic and family violence (DFV). Anoushka’s work spans direct therapeutic support, program design, and sector education. Prior to completing her psychological study, she had worked as a men's behaviour change facilitator for 6 years. Recognising a need for specialised psychological support for men who use violence, she went on to work withing a complex mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) space where she has been able to create early intervention programs for men using violence, integrating group work with individual therapy to address the individual AOD and mental health related contributing factors to their abusive behaviour. This work has also deepened her passion and expertise working women who have experienced domestic and sexual violence, addressing complex trauma through tailored therapeutic approaches to support healing.
