Share&Swap Shop | 30 Nov | Sandringham
Event description
Celebrate the festive season sustainably! In collaboration with Village Zero, Bayside Roving Repair Program, Zero Waste Wrapping and Sandybeach Centre, we invite you to a pre-festive repair and swap event. Bring your broken items, swap pre-loved for re-loved treasures, and learn zero waste wrapping techniques to prepare for a more sustainable holiday season.
Share&Swap Shop
Discover the joy of a shop where everything is absolutely free! Welcome to Share&Swap Shop – a community "shopping"! Join us in sharing your pre-loved items and swapping for re-loved treasures. Just like an op shop or garage sale, where everything is free.
What to bring?
Please share maximum 6 items.
Anything non-bulky that you'd comfortably share with close friends - no tear and wear, items will go through quality check.
Clothes, shoes, books, kitchenware, homeware, plants, cosmetics, seeds, garden harvest, pet items, postcards, kids’ items, toys, puzzles, bags, photo frames, jewellery, art supplies, hobby items, umbrellas, stationery, long shelf-life food etc.
No Items to Share? No Problem!
You are welcome to join our swaps even if you don’t have anything to share. Come along, enjoy the community vibe, and find some treasures to take home!
Swap timing:
- 12pm - 12:30pm Items drop-off (we do not accept any donations past 12:30pm)
- 12:30pm - 2pm Free Shopping
Besides Share&Swap Shop, the event offers a range of hands-on activities, learning opportunities, and sustainable practices
Bayside Roving Repair
Skilled volunteer repairers will be available to help with:
- Woodwork
- Small appliances and electronics (please bring any necessary components like wires or leads)
- Textiles
- Jewellery mending
- General repairs and advice for items too large to bring along (photos are welcome)
Repairs will be conducted at designated tables, so please note there may be wait times. If repair volunteers can’t fix your item, they’ll offer advice on next steps.
To express your interest in roving repair, please complete the form on the Council event page.
Zero Waste Wrapping
Once your items are repaired or you’ve found new treasures, join Hayami from Zero Waste Wrapping to learn the Japanese art of “Furoshiki” – a fabric wrapping technique with a history spanning over 1,200 years. All materials for practice are provided, so bring your gifts and items for wrapping
To help us manage this event, your registration is essential.
