Share your Memories of Mark Elvin: An Online Tribute

Emeritus Professor Mark Elvin passed away on 6 December 2023 in Oxford, UK. He was hired as the Chair in Chinese History at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the ANU in 1990, and worked here until his retirement in 2006. When he came to Australia, he had already distinguished himself as an eminent historian and had taught at Cambridge, Oxford, and Glasgow. A tribute to his life and work can be found here.

On 4 April, from 7:00-8:30pm Canberra time, CHL will host a tribute to Emeritus Professor Mark Elvin, inviting his colleagues, students, friends and family to share memories. Those who would like to share memories but are unable to attend are invited to send short (up to three-minute) videos, which can be played at the service.
